The New Education Policy (NEP) has set the guidelines to the schools about effective implementation of co-curricular activities. In our school, our students can expertise in any one of the interested activities.
It is compulsory for the students for class VI – VIII to enrol in any one of the activities and hone the skills in that activity. The learning outcomes of each activity is listed below and in a year the students excel in that art.
Music:
From
the basics of Carnatic music, the students will be trained. Students
will be asked to perform in school celebrations conducted in school.
Art and Craft:
The
students will be trained in making different kinds of Arts and Craft
work like Mural work (photo frame,paper weight, wall hanger, mini
fountain etc), best out of waste (craft with paper,pen holder,wall
hanging,dolls, table mat etc, flower arrangement, folk painting(
Madhubani, Phad, Warli, Patachitra,Kalamkari etc ).
Roller Skates:
Skating
improves the student’s physical strength, balance, concentration
and core stability. The child can appear for district level
tournaments State level tournaments, and Nationals also.
Embroidery
and Stitching:
The
students learn basic types of embroidery, types of needles, types of
Threads, tracing, designing methods for saree, blouse, chudithar,
lehenga and pillow Covers. They will be well versed in 50+ stitches.
Bharathanatyam:
This
will prepare them from basics to Arangetram completing 8 levels of
Qualifying tests.
Karate:
Practising
karate strengthens the body, improves coordination, builds stamina
and overall health. The children can appear for various belt exams
starting from Yellow, green, blue, brown and black. They can also
participate in district Tournaments, state tournaments and in
nationals.
Silambam:
Training
in traditional self-defence art form. Students can appear for Various
belt exams and participate in district, state, national and
international Tournaments.
Chess:
Students
will be trained to appear in tournaments held at district, state,
National and international levels.
Keyboard:
Students
will be able to read sheet music – basics ( Rudiments of written
Music, C, F and G notations., the time value of notes up to quaver
notes and rests,
2/4, ¾, 4/4 time signatures and will be introduced to arpeggios, dynamics,Articulations etc).
Guitar:
Students
will be able to read sheet music – basics ( Rudiments of written
